I would very much like to write a story based on Alice in Wonderland. It would take place in the future, in which Alice (16/17YO) is seen to be mentally disturbed. This would be somewhat similar to the plot of the video game, American McGee鈥檚 Alice (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/American_Mc鈥?/a> ). I would intend to have this story published, but I鈥檓 not sure if this idea has already been done. I haven鈥檛 come across anything like this so far, but I鈥檓 not certain that my idea is original.Are there any books which are darker, macabre versions of Alice in Wonderland?

Please....A sexually abused child. That would be your own interpretation. Lewis Carroll was Very religious and closely involved with the church. He became friends with the dean of the church and wrote this story for his 3 young daughters, one which happened to be named Alice. Get your facts straight
