R&P: Any Alice Cooper fans out there?? I missed his birthday this month... plus BQs.?

Alice was born February 4, 1948. Happy belated birthday! As you may know, he was the son of a Baptist minister and his birth name is Vincent Damon Furnier.

One of my favorite songs. Here is a quote someone wrote in youtube under this song. I couldn't agree more!! I have seen him in concert more than once and he is wonderful.

"Alice is from what I see the most REAL person in the intertainment industry. There is no fakeness about him like there is amongst most of all the other ageing rock stars and actors that have to get thier faces lifted and try to look unnormal. In fact he gets better with age."

Interesting wiki article on Alice http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alice_Coope鈥?/a>

BQ: Favorite song by Alice - post a link if you like.

BQ2: Do you think he is underrated as an artist

BQ3: Do you think he should be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame?R%26amp;P: Any Alice Cooper fans out there?? I missed his birthday this month... plus BQs.?
Yeah, I like him. He was HUGE while I was in high school! lol

What!?! He's not in the R%26amp;RHOF? I'm shocked! He was fairly single-handedly responsible for moving rock and roll out of the hippie dippie '60s and '70s into the harder rocking "arena" shows that were to come. Shocked, I tell ya! Where would rock be today without the theatrics of the Alice Cooper live shows?? The snake, the blood, the decapitation.... Every hard rocker today OWES Alice Cooper.

2. Absolutely.

3. Yes, long over due. As the orig shock rocker, he paved the way for Ozzie, Manson, etc.
Happy Birthday Alice! :)

Yeah I read the Wikipedia article on him - and my jaw nearly hit the floor when I found out Salvador Dali was a fan!

Plus - I saw him once or twice being interviewed - he is THE nicest guy ever! Literally!!!

BQ: Ah, there isn't just one.. But the first song I /really/ fell in love with was The Ballad Of Dwight Fry - I love that song, especially you know the way the guitar comes in about halfway through? Fantabulous. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SHqrvaVFQ鈥?/a>

BQ2: Definitely. Minus like, Poison, hahaha.

BQ3: Yes!
Alice Cooper rocks it...the Lord and Master and Founder of Shock Rock. He should have been in the Hall of Fame years ago or at least before Madonna IMO.

So many favorites from Cooper..but I reckon

The Black Widow is my favorite

I don't think he was under-rated as an artist, at least not by his fans or his peers. Maybe the critics passed him by and tried to downplay him..but Cooper's live shows are true gems...Saw him live several times on his Nightmare Tour..once as a fan and once working behind the scenes...never a better showman or frontman.
I saw Alice Cooper (pre-Love It To Death) open for Chad %26amp; Jeremy in 1971 and I've been a fan ever since!

BQ: Top 3

Ballad Of Dwight Fry

Desperado

Jackknife Johnny

BQ2: No. Alice has enjoyed a very successful career and and he's being richly rated throughout the years IMHO.

BQ3: Of course!
Well Cheetah_...

Alice ROCKS!!!!

Fave song - It's a toss up for me. I love "Only Women Bleed" and "Feed My Frankenstein"

Couldn't find a link to "Only Women Bleed" but here's one for "Frankenstein"

Alice is one of the most underrated artists of all time. Without him, there wouldn't be Marilyn Manson, Rob Zombie, etc.!

He should definitely be in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame! The fact that he's not is further proof of the lack of validity of the institution.
