Starting out strong, I see! The infoboxes are templates: snippets of code that take in a few parameters and output the nicely-formatted boxes that we're used to.



Templates are called with double curly brackets: if I wanted to use the template at "Template:Foobar"; I'd write {{foobar}}.



More complicated templates take parameters: you might have {{foobar| baz = XYZ}}, and the template will use that input "XYZ" to create its output. You can usually visit the template page to get some documentation on how to use it: namely, which parameters to add, what to use in them.



The article you mention uses "Infobox soap character", and you can see the documentation at %26lt; http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Template:In鈥?/a> %26gt;. For real people, you'll probably want to use the person infobox (%26lt; http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Template:In鈥?/a> %26gt;) or something more specific from that category (%26lt; http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Pe鈥?/a> %26gt;).
